artist statement

i’m a multidisciplinary artist working in collage, comics, zines and poetry. for over 20 years, collage has been how i explore what i’m feeling before i have language for it.

growing up in appalachia shaped my imagination: the woods, the foothills, the feeling that a place holds something you can sense but can’t quite explain. surrealism gives me a language for that feeling. across mediums, images and ideas return, connecting my work into a strange world with its own stories.

i’m drawn to liminal spaces: doors, arches, windows, plateaus. places that hold us while something shifts. yoga and tarot inform my exploration of spirituality, healing and growth, including Weird at Heart, my 78-card collage tarot deck.

my work holds concern for the natural world alongside humor, play and joy. i return to rewilding: letting the parts of us that got paved over grow back. a little weird, a little feral, more ourselves.
